SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Ontology Worldmap is a curated, interactive overview of ontologies relevant to catalysis-related research. It supports both human and machine-readable metadata documentation and provides researchers and developers with a structured entry point into the ontology landscape of NFDI4Cat.

  • Structured overview of catalysis-relevant ontologies, including links, scope, and status.
  • Human- and machine-readable descriptions support reuse, comparison, and integration.
  • Highlights gaps, overlaps, and connections within the catalysis ontology ecosystem.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

There is currently no structured, domain-specific collection of ontologies available for catalysis research. Metadata in portals like BioPortal or OLS is often incomplete or unsuitable for ontology engineering. Human- and machine-readable metadata documentation is lacking, making reuse and integration difficult.
