He is the spokesperson and coordinator of NFDI4Cat and deputy spokesperson of the Section Industry Engagement.
Prof. Matthias Beller
Prof. Beller is Head of the Department of Applied Homogeneous Catalysis at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis.
Within NFDI4Cat, he serves as deputy spokesperson and scientific coordinator.
Prof. Dr. Olaf Deutschmann
Prof. Dr. Deutschmann is a professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in the Institute for Chemical Technology and Polymer Chemistry.
He is a member of the NFDI4Cat steering committee.
Dr. Mark Dörr
Dr. Dörr is member of the European Open Science Cloud taskforce “Technical and Semantic Interoperability” and the international open SiLA / AnIML Lab Automation Standardisation workgroup, facilitating transfer of concepts and synchronising shared standardisation efforts.
Dr. Michael Geske
Dr. Geske is a group leader at the BasCat UniCat BASF JointLab, focusing on reactor and process analysis. His expertise lies in heterogeneous catalysis, reaction kinetics, and characterization.
Prof. Dr. Roger Gläser
Prof. Dr. Gläser is Director of the Institute of Chemical Technology at Leipzig University and will focus within NFDI4Cat on education and training in research data management in catalysis.
TT-Prof. Dr. Schirin Hanf
TT-Prof. Hanf is a professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry. Her research focuses on the interface between molecular and heterogeneous catalysis.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norbert Kockmann
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kockmann teaches at TU Dortmund University in the Faculty of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering, in the Apparatus Design research group.
Prof. Dr. Richard Lenz
Prof. Dr. Lenz is the deputy spokesperson of the FAU Center for Research Data and Information. In the previous phase, he actively supported NFDI4Cat through contributions to ontology and vocabulary development. He will continue to advise NFDI4Cat in TA2 (ontology-based data acquisition).
Dr. David Linke
Dr. Linke will continue to contribute actively to TA2 and TA3 and administer the NFDI4Cat GitHub organisation. He has also been involved in several areas of NFDI (section metadata, WG Ontologies, TF Tools, WG Helpdesk, PIDs). Local storage and computing power will be provided by LIKAT IT.
Prof. Dr. Regina Palkovits
Prof. Dr. Palkovits is Executive Director of the Institute of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University.
Dr. Stefan Palkovits
Dr. Palkovits (Senior Academic Advisor) continues to support NFDI4Cat through his valuable in-kind contributions.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Resch
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Resch is Director of the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart.
As part of NFDI4Cat, HLRS will develop and implement the repository.
Prof. Dr. Karsten Reuter
Prof. Dr. Reuter is Director of the Department of Theory at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society.
Within NFDI4Cat, he leads the development of AI tools.
Prof. Dr. Marcus Rose
Prof. Dr. Rose is head of the Chair of Technical Chemistry II. He serves as deputy chair of the DECHEMA Subject Division on Zeolites as well as the Functional Materials Division, and is a member of the GeCatS commission.
Within NFDI4Cat, he is involved in Task Area 6 and is particularly interested in use cases.
Prof. Dr. Sonja Schimmler
Prof. Dr. Schimmler is a researcher at Fraunhofer FOKUS and TU Berlin, and leads the research group "Digitalization of Science."
She serves as the NFDI4Cat board member for "Data Standards and Quality Assurance."
Dr. Stephan Andreas Schunk
Dr. Schunk serves as Executive Expert / Vice President for hte GmbH & BASF SE.
He leads the Industrial Advisory Board of NFDI4Cat.
Prof. Dr. Peter Benner
Prof. Dr. Benner is Executive Director of the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Magdeburg, where he heads the department “Numerical Methods in Systems and Control Theory.”
Prof. Dr. Marco Haumann
Prof. Dr. Haumann is head of the research group “Supported Ionic Liquid Phase Catalysis” at the Chair of Chemical Reaction Engineering at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
Prof. Dr. Walter Leitner
Prof. Dr. Leitner is Director of the Department of Molecular Catalysis at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion.
Prof. Dr. Mehtap Özaslan
Prof. Dr. Özaslan is an expert in electrocatalysis for renewable energy conversion and also leads the research area “Center for Applied Nanotechnology” at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katrin Rosenthal
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rosenthal is a professor of biotechnology with a focus on bioprocess engineering at Constructor University in Bremen.
Prof. Jennifer Strunk
Prof. Strunk will represent the Technical University of Munich in the upcoming funding period within NFDI4Cat. Her focus will be on the use cases Training and Education as well as Support Publishers. Within the environment of the Catalysis Research Center (CRC) at TUM, she will particularly promote the involvement of students and research interns, while implementing key best-practice examples from NFDI4Cat 1.0 into the CRC’s data infrastructure.
Dr. Annette Trunschke
Dr. Trunschke is a group leader in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society and an expert in the field of heterogeneous catalysis.
Within NFDI4Cat, she will support use cases and promote the creation of synergies between catalysis-related data spaces in NFDI4Cat and data on physical and chemical material properties in other consortia, such as FAIRmat.
TT-Prof. Dr. Moritz Wolf
TT-Prof. Wolf is Professor of Catalyst Materials for the Energy Transition at KIT. His main research areas include material synthesis, its scalability, and the development of (model) catalysts for sustainable applications.
As a participant in NFDI4Cat, he and his research group will primarily support the use cases.
Prof. Dr. Dirk Ziegenbalg
Prof. Dr. Ziegenbalg is an expert in photoreaction engineering and photocatalysis and a professor at the University of Ulm.
