A Data Repository for Catalysis-Related Sciences

Data repositories are key components of modern research data infrastructures, ensuring data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR).
The paper Repo4Cat: A Data Repository for Catalysis-Related Sciences, published in IEEE IDAACS 2025, details the creation of Repo4Cat, a repository tailored to catalysis-related research. It covers the full process, from selecting repository software, setup, and functionality extensions to adaptation and maintenance.
The work also highlights lessons learned and know-how valuable for other disciplines developing their own repositories. Repo4Cat acts as a hub connecting NFDI4Cat initiatives, including pid4cat, voc4cat, and training and user support activities, featuring a Kanban-based approach for task management.
