We’re excited that you’re considering joining NFDI4Cat. Whether you want to connect with the community and participate in a Use Case (Route A), or you’d like to apply for FlexFunds to contribute to a Use Case (Route A + B), the first steps are straightforward. This page guides you through the process and provides all downloads you need.

 

Depending on your goal, there are two routes. Route A and Route B which builds on Route A – so everyone starts with the participation survey. FlexFunds applicants continue with additional steps.

Depending on your goal, there are two routes. Route B builds on Route A – so everyone starts with the participation survey, and FlexFunds applicants continue with additional steps.

 

Participant

Route A

  • You explore the Use Cases and decide to participate
  • You download the Survey Questions and prepare your answers
  • You complete the participation survey (find below) or here: https://dechema.typeform.com/joinus
  • Review by PMB: We receive and evaluate your submission
  • If promising: We invite you to present yourself during the next PMB meeting

Decision phase:

  • If accepted, DFG is informed
  • If accepted, an NDA must be signed (required)
  • If not accepted, the process ends
  • Finish Route A or be already an active participant in NFDI4Cat
  • Download and complete the two-page FlexFunds Proposal template
  • Review by PMB: We receive and evaluate your proposal

Decision phase:

  • If approved: You sign the consortium agreement (If not approved, the process ends)
  • Onboarding & project start (TA5): We refine the proposal together to align with NFDI4Cat goals, start the work, and share progress updates

Typical review time: about 4 weeks
