Data protection

The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously.

Personal data is any data that can be related to you personally, e.g. name, address, e-mail addresses and user behaviour (information that relates to an identifiable natural person (Art. 4 No. 1 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR)).

When you contact us by e-mail or via the contact form, the data you provide (your e-mail address, name and telephone number, if applicable) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. We delete the data accruing in this context after the storage is no longer necessary or restrict the processing if there are legal retention obligations.

We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

 

Collection of personal data

In the case of merely informative use of the website, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise transmit information to us, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server according to the settings you have made (server log files). To view our website, we collect the data that is technically necessary for this purpose and to ensure stability and security in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f EU-GDPR:

  • Anonymised IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (specific page)
  • Access status/HTTP status code
  • Amount of data transferred in each case
  • Website from which the request came
  • Browser

This data cannot be assigned to specific persons. This data is not merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of concrete indications of illegal use.

Your rights

You have the following rights with regard to the personal data concerning you:

  • Right to information,
  • Right to correction or deletion,
  • Right to restriction of processing,
  • Right to object to processing,
  • Right to data portability.

(2) You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.
(3) In the case of manifestly unfounded or excessive requests, we may charge an appropriate fee. Otherwise, the information will be provided free of charge (Art. 12 (5) EU-GDPR).
(4) In the event of reasonable doubt as to the identity of the person asserting the above rights, we may request additional information necessary to confirm the identity (Art. 12(6) EU-GDPR).

You can reach the data protection officer by e-mail or by post at the postal address with the addition “The data protection officer”.

SSL encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries that you send to us as site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot, as a rule, be read by third parties.

 

Cookies

In addition to the data mentioned above, cookies are stored on your personal computer when using our website. Cookies are small text files stored in your computer system by the browser used by you, through which we (the server of our website) obtain certain information. Cookies cannot execute any programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to make internet offers more user-friendly, more effective, and quicker. It is distinguished between session cookies (transient cookies) and permanent (persistent) cookies.

Transient cookies are deleted automatically when you close the browser. They include in particular the session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, through which queries of your browser can be allocated to the joint session. They allow us to identify your computer when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

We use session cookies exclusively. We do not use any persistent cookies or flash cookies.

You can set your browser such that you will be informed about the setting of cookies and you can permit cookies in individual cases only, exclude the acceptance of cookies in certain cases or in general, and activate automatic deletion of cookies when closing your browser. When deactivating cookies, functionality of this website may be limited.

Matomo (formerly PIWIK)

To keep track of the usage of our website, we use the analytics platform Matomo. The software sets a cookie on your computer. We store the following data:

  • Anonymized IP-address (2 bytes are masked)
  • Content of the access (concrete site)
  • Website from which an accessing system reaches our website (Referrer)
  • Visited subpages
  • Length of stay
  • Visitation frequency

The software runs exclusively on the servers of our website. Your personal data will only be stored there. Your data will not be transferred to third parties.
The software automatically masks 2 bytes of your IP address. Therefore, it cannot give any conclusions about your person.

We process the data to analyze the behavior of our website visitors. Through the evaluation, we are able to improve our website and its user-friendliness steadily. The data will be deleted as soon as there is no longer any need for our recording purposes. The data will be automatically deleted no later than six months after collection. The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6, par. 1, clause 1, (f) GDPR.

As described above, you have the option to prevent the storage of cookies in the browser settings, which also affects Matomo.
